Practical things to do to avoid or get out of depression:

  1. Exercise regularly. Run. Lift. Fight.
  2. Get sunlight. Get out of the house. Go to the cafe. Chit-chat with the high-pitched Latina barista.
  3. Eat fish.
  4. Sleep well, seven hours regularly.
  5. Keep in touch with friends and family.
  6. Redirect attention from your thoughts to an activity or friends.
  7. Avoid the wrong crowd. Go where you’re wanted.
  8. Avoid sugars and simple carbohydrates.
  9. Eat fruits and vegetables.
  10. Get help. Read. Reflect. Do yoga; gawk at the hotties in between poses.
